Wanani Ahab’s Story

This interview has been edited for clarity.

Hi! My name is Wanani Ahab, I am 13 years old. I just finished my exams for Primary six, and I got promoted to primary seven: my last class at Hadassah.

I heard about Hadassah through my friends who used to study here. They helped me convince my parents in 2023 when I was in Primary Three to let me attened. What I like about Hadassah are my good friends, that there are good teachers, that I am fed very well (and many other things)!

Socially, before coming to Hadassah, I was shy…but because of the debate club here, I feel I am able to address bigger audiences with confidence.

I joined Hadassah in Primary Three. I had problems in math class, but because of my teachers, I expect I will perform better in the national exams next year. Similarly, at the time I came at Hadassah, I didn’t know how to read Hebrew text but with the training we go through with my teachers, I am able to read and I am prepared to read better from the Torah at my bar-mitzvah soon!
