The Hadassah Difference

In Hadassah’s 24 years, there have been 18 graduating classes with an average of 20 students graduating in each class. Of those 20 students, 15 go to college or receive an advanced degree after high school. In its tenure, Hadassah has produced 270 college graduates and looks forward to producing many more!

Hadassah boards 90-120 students each year. Some of these students live too far to commute, but still others are orphans or students who otherwise have nowhere else to live. These students receive food and shelter, as well as care and discipline from Hadassah – an impact that shapes their lives for the better, forever.

Despite its small size, Hadassah’s music program is ranked 38th in Uganda. It faces nationwide competitors with often more than 1000 students.

Hadassah is the only school in the region that gives our students access to computers, it is also the only local school with a band, and is the only local school that is always represented at the national level in choir competitions and academic accomplishment.

Hadassah also provides three meals each day to our 120 boarding students, as well as two meals a day to the 138 non-boarding day students. That is 636 meals per day, or 3900 meals per week. All told, Hadassah provides students a consistent source of food for more than 140,400 meals per year.

Hadassah also has a resident nurse, providing care for children 24/7 including; cough and cold treatment, cleaning and bandaging of everyday cuts and scrapes, and even malaria treatment.
